CRASH of WELLINGTON Mk 1, X 9620, Code NZ-?

Wellington X 9620 took off from Lindholm, Yorkshire, to bomb Emden, Germany.

They were shot down bij Night Fighter Oberleutnant Prinz Egmont zur Lippe Weissenfeld with a BF 110 nightfighter.

The aircraft crashed on 03.24 hours near the road between Twisk and Opperdoes, behind the farm of G. Blokker, the Netherlands.

The whole crew perished and is buried now at Hoek van Holland, the Netherlands, except mjr. Rzepa S.W. who is byried at Bergen, the Netheralands.

A memorial panel has been placed short after the war but this panel is later on removed to Hoek van Holland, the Netherlands.
