After his arrival in England was por. inż. pil. Riess assigned to 
the Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment located 
at Boscombe Down. 

On 04/02/1943 he started with Halifax W 7917 together with the 
English technicians F / Sgt Fieldingiem and Mr. Uwinen to do tests

The plane went into a corkscrew and crashed at Sutton Scotney 
in Mantshire. 

All three lost their lives.
