22.50 Beaufighter IIF. R2457 crashed into the sea one mile South of 
Beer Head. 

Both members of this crew, S.Ldr Smok, Pilot, and F.O. Swierz, 
Observer (Radio) are missing and believed killed. 

The course of accident is unknown. 

Beaufighters immediately after the crash took off and dropped flares 
in the vicinity of the crash but nothing beyond small fragments of 
wreckage could be observed.
